HPLC analysis of haemoglobin variants in whole blood

Together with ChromSystems Instruments & Chemicals GmbH, we have implemented a validated HPLC method on hemoglobin variants on our 1260 HPLC in house. This method has the EC-declaration of conformity according to directive 98/79 EC on in vitro diagnostic medical devices. Within 10 min runs per sample, percentages of different hemoglobin variants over the total of hemoglobins in whole blood samples is determined. Commercial BioRad L1 and L2 QC standards are used to ensure proper quantification.
