Peptide mapping or protein sequencing

These experiments are done on a nanoLC-Orbitrap instrument, which is highly sensitive and powerful in view of the quality of generated MS2 fragmentation spectra. Your sample will be digested with a specific protease (commonly trypsin) and peptides are sequenced. We can work with proteins in solution as well as Coomassie stained proteins present in a gel.

From the MSMS fragmentation spectra, amino acid sequences can be elucidated. In this way, the amino acid sequence of a protein can be confirmed. Also, one can find out if there is a signal peptide cleaved from the protein for example, or if there are post-translational modification present on the protein, like oxidation, deamidation or phosphorylation. Data can be shared with the customer via Scaffold Viewer, to provide the customer flexible insights into the data and to create figures according to his/ her needs. In the Figure, an overview is made from results of two protein bands which were excised from SDS-PAGE.
