Proteomics, Glycomics & Metabolomics

Proteomics

Your samples will be analyzed on a nanoLC-Orbitrap instrument. Proteins mixtures can be provided such as biofluids, tissue homogenates, or cell extracts. Depending on the research question and complexity of the sample, the sample needs to be fractionated or enriched before analysis. Thousands of proteins can be identified per analysis. One can also study post-translational modifications and compare samples to identify new biomarkers

Glycomics

Your samples will be analyzed on a UHPLC-FLD-QTOF instrument. QTOF is known to keep the glycans intact and the fluorescence detection ensures accurate quantification. For N-glycan analysis, we work with an Agilent kit to fluorescently label the glycans and Agilent glycan mapping column to resolve them by UHPLC. The high resolution chromatography is even able to resolve glycan isomers:

Metabolomics

Samples will be analyzed on UHPLC-QTOF high resolution mass spectrometry and run both in positive and negative mode to identify as many metabolites as possible. This is a profiling method for untargeted analysis, finding for example new biomarkers. We also have in house targeted metabolomics, which is more quantitative. Standard curves can be made from known compounds and quantified accordingly, to result in for example a box plot or heat map for comparison of samples. Also a PCA or loading plot can be created according to your needs
